Leadership

To meet our mission we have assembled one of the most experienced camp leadership teams in the country. Combined, we have spent more than 200 years at Kenwood & Evergreen, and more than half of our administrative staff began here as campers. We are more like a family than a group of co-workers, and each of us is dedicated to creating the most enjoyable, intentional, child-development focused overnight camp experience possible.

Scott Brody

Owner & Director
Scott has been the Owner & Director of Camps Kenwood & Evergreen since 1996. As a camper, Scott discovered his strengths at K&E, making lasting friendships that continue to this day, learning how to be a good teammate, friend and leader. He returned to K&E as a Bunk Counselor and in the summers that followed served as a Unit Leader, Head Counselor & Assistant Director. As a 21 year old, he shared his aspiration to one day direct Kenwood & Evergreen with his mentors Arthur & Judy Sharenow, and together, they were able to make that dream come true. Scott is also the Founder of Everwood Day Camp and operator of Camp Sewataro, both in MA.

Scott also wears many other hats in the camping world! He recently completed a three year term as the National Board Chair of the American Camp Association; an educator and thought leader in the areas of 21st century learning, workforce development and child development, and a tireless advocate for summer camps on a national and global level. He continues to represent the camp profession in Washington, DC, advocating for camps in the halls of Congress and in the White House. He served as an Executive Board member of the Partnership for 21st Century Learning in Washington, DC, and is a current Executive Board Member of the Foundation for Jewish Camp in NY as well as other state and local boards. He is the author of an award-winning article for Camping Magazine entitled “Teaching the Skills that Children Need to Succeed”.
