New Fun Ideas In Ceramics This SummerMay 27, 2015
Just a small sample of our new molds for the ceramics studio!
Camp is just a few weeks away and we could not be more excited. Every day we are working on new fun ideas for activity areas, bunk life, overnight trips, special events, and more. Yesterday we got some new equipment for the ceramics studio that has us all very excited.
As you can see in this picture of Head Counselor David Walsh, we have a new fun collection of plaster molds for making plates, platters, cups, candle sticks, goblets and bowls out of clay. We also got a group of stands for campers who want to make giant busts (otherwise known as clay heads) as their main summer art project. This summer Ceramics Andy will be teaching campers how to pour liquid clay into the molds, how to sand the rough edges once they dry, and how to paint whatever creative ideas they can think of on these pieces that they will be able to eat and drink off of! We look forward to these beautiful art projects becoming permanent treasures and mementos in our campers’ homes!
Creative and performing arts are a major part of the program at Camps Kenwood and Evergreen. We have separate studios for ceramics, traditional arts & crafts, filmmaking, furniture building, digital photography and comic book design, cooking, dance, musical theater and rock band. Come take a look at our exciting arts program!
