Our brother-sister summer camp’s fabulous Color War

You may have noticed that there was no blog yesterday. Sadly, as Color War broke out for each of our brother-sister summer camps I was starting to not feel very well. I ended up needing to recoup for a while. Thankfully, I’m back and on my way to 100%. I also have two videos to post today. I hope that you enjoy them both!

The first is a compilation of footage that Deena and I have shot since both Maroon and Grey and Green and Gold began. I think it shows all of the intensity, spirit, cameraderie of our two camp’s color wars.

The second is a video that one of our campers made earlier in the summer. This is Zev and he’s a really cool camper. He joined our community two summers ago and he really seems to have found his place here. Now in his third summer, he’s got a lot of friends and really likes being a part of our 7-week summer camp. It appears that our camp’s focus on teaching 21st century skills like independence, resilience, innovation and collaboration has made a major impression on him.

21st century skills

So in his free time this summer he made this short video that explains in his own words exactly what we mean when we talk about 21st century skills. As soon as he finished it our film counselors came running to find me. They couldn’t wait to show what he had done.

The entire camp community is so proud of him, and we hope you enjoy his short film titled “21st Century Skills” as much as we did!

Camps Kenwood and Evergreen is a 7-week brother-sister summer camp in NH. Our program teaches kids to be better, more confident athletes. We also teach important soft skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.
