While we believe that it’s the people who define a camp, we think our excellent facilities go a long way in making Kenwood & Evergreen the extraordinary place that it is. Our campus is situated on 180 acres of forest and fields, overlooking a half-mile stretch of private lake and beaches in New Hampshire.
Bunks & Lodges

Kenwood & Evergreen offer unique living communities for all of its age groups. Each age group of Evergreen girls lives in their own lodge, which has multiple sleeping cabins that are linked by a spacious living room. Our girls tell us that Lodge living is one of the most special aspects of life at Evergreen. The communal structure of our lodges gives every girl the opportunity to develop a real relationship with every other person in the lodge, and helps to prevent cliques from developing.
In Kenwood, the bunks for each age group are clustered together around a common outdoor area for running, ping pong, or having a quiet conversation with a best friend.

In every bunk in Kenwood & Evergreen, our general counselors live in the same shared space with our campers, so that they can be fully involved in the daily lives of the bunk. Our spacious bunks and large grassy areas give our Kenwood boys both indoor and outdoor places to make strong social connections. All boys and girls bunks have 7-8 campers and 2 general counselors.
Athletic Facilities

Two soccer fields and three baseball diamonds are located throughout our campus, as are 11 clay tennis courts. Campers receive quality instruction at every team and

individual sports activity area, from nurturing, supportive staff. Our indoor gymnasium is located in the heart of our campus, next to one of our two beach volleyball courts. The size of our gym enables us to keep our campers active, even during the most inclement summer weather. For team sports we also offer an outdoor basketball court, complete with adjustable backboards.
Our recently renovated archery range is one of our most popular program areas, especially with younger boys and girls. Campers learn that success at archery comes not from running faster or being stronger, but from learning to concentrate and make careful adjustments to your form.
Our state-of-the-art challenge course features both high and low ropes course elements, with names such as the Giants Ladder, Burma Bridge, Pamper Pole, Nitro Crossing, and our Zip Line. For campers interested in a different sort of challenge, we also have a 40-ft tall real granite rock climbing wall! A Kenwood & Evergreen summer includes participation in a mixture of team and individual sports.

Our Lake

Twice daily, campers travel with their age group to the waterfront. In the mornings, campers participate in General Swim (also called “G-Swim”), having the

opportunity to dive off the diving board, pal around on a surf board, swim laps, take out a boat, fish, build sand castles, or just relax on one of our two beautiful beaches.
At General Swim our talented ski instructors also teach waterskiing, tubing, and knee & wake boarding. Campers

who are just learning to ski have the benefit of being able to hold onto a pole that juts off of the side of the boat, enabling them to get more comfortable on skis in much less time.

Each weekday afternoon campers participate in Red Cross-certified Swim Instruction. Campers learn skills as varied as perfecting a stroke, the proper way to dive, and becoming more comfortable with their faces in the water.
Once campers graduate beyond the traditional swim levels they have the opportunity to become Red Cross Certified Lifeguards. Camps Kenwood & Evergreen also offers boating and canoeing instruction, which helps campers prepare for the overnight canoe trip that each age group participates in. This past summer campers enjoyed learning on our newly created boating obstacle course.
Visual & Performing Arts

This summer we will be opening the doors of our brand-new indoor theater! Each week our community joins together to watch and cheer a theater production put on by a different age group. Our theater is also where we sing along with visiting performers, watch movies, and gather each Friday for a short Shabbat service. Our new theater will also house our dance program, and the downstairs will be home to a number of our art studios. At right is an artist's drawing of our new building!

Visual arts are a major aspect of the Kenwood & Evergreen program. We offer instruction in digital photography, ceramics, arts & crafts, woodworking and movie making. This past summer our campers participated in the First Annual Kenwood & Evergreen Film Festival. Over 30 short films were made by campers, in genres ranging from comedy to action to documentary. To see some of the films made by our campers this summer please click here.
Music is also a large part of the Kenwood & Evergreen experience. In our amplified & acoustic music building campers can try playing an instrument for the first time! If you have some prior experience then take a lesson and learn a new song, form a rock band, or even recording a song to put on your Ipod! The Music Building is filled with acoustic and electric guitars, drums, keyboards, and lots of amplifiers to help you discover your sound!
Buildings & Facilities

We are also excited to open the doors this summer on our brand new Dining Hall, which looks out on our beautiful lake! Three times a day the entire Kenwood & Evergreen community sits down together for a well-cooked meal, along with lots of singing and cheering.
Our peanut & tree nut sensitive camp kitchen staff produces delicious and nutritious meals, keeps the salad bars stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables, and makes us homemade cakes when someone has a birthday.
Before breakfast and dinner all campers and staff gather in the assembly area adjacent to the dining hall. As one big family we share in the triumphs of each age group, and salute notable individual achievements. And of course, when it's someone's birthday, we all sing them Happy Birthday!
Housekeeping
Camp has a Housekeeping team that works hard to keep Camp clean all summer. Campers drop off their laundry once a week, and it is washed, folded and returned to them. The Housekeeping team cleans and disinfects our bunks and bathrooms every other day, while our campers and counselors are responsible for keeping them neat and tidy!
Health Center
Our Camp Infirmary is a well-stocked, well-staffed little hospital, with a doctor and nurses always on facility. We have a great relationship with our local hospital, New London Hospital, which is about 8 miles from campus.
