Camp Evergreen is a special summer home for 160 girls and 75 counselors. Evergreen girls live in spacious cabins of 6 or 7 campers and two counselors. The vast majority of our bunk counselors are former campers, and return summer after summer to share their Evergreen experiences with a new group of campers.
Camp Evergreen is a small camp with a unique family feeling. We keep Evergreen small so that every camper and every counselor get to know each other very well.
We welcome our new campers into camp with a special big sister/little
sister program. Our oldest campers (who are 15) are paired with a first-time camper
and become their special friend for the entire summer.
On weekdays, campers participate in all kinds of activities including
land sports (softball, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics, etc.), the arts
(crafts, ceramics, photography, music, video, drama, etc.) and water sports (swimming
lessons, boating and water-skiing). In addition, every group leaves camp
on at least one overnight hiking trip and one overnight canoe trip, as
well as many day trips throughout the summer.
On some nights and on every weekend, Evergreen campers meet up with the
Kenwood boys for exciting, creative special events.
