Staff
A camp is only as good as its staff.
It's why we focus so much of our efforts on hiring the best and the brightest for our campers! Each year we hire the finest-and
most nurturing and compassionate-- coaches, counselors and instructors. Our staff excel at teaching sports and art skills along
with instructing values like teamwork, acceptance, and lasting self-esteem.
More than half of our staff is comprised of former K&E campers. Additionally, we spend each winter interviewing candidates at some of the finest universities in the nation. The most important qualities we seek in our staff are compassion, intelligence, fun, energy, patience, and a genuine love of children.
All potential staff members must participate in an exhaustive interview
process, including mandatory reference and background checks. Each counselor
is personally interviewed.
Traditionally, over 80% of our staff return to camp each summer. Last year more than 85% of our staff returned, and we expect to break that record in 2007!

experience!
RatiosCampers have more success when are able to form meaningful relationships with terrific counselors. We foster this by maintaining a 2.5 to 1 camper-to-counselor ratio. In addition, we limit our cabins to 8 campers and 2 counselors. At Camps Kenwood & Evergreen there is always someone there to listen, nurture or share a laugh.
